The Cosmic Mending Kit™

Shared place where we provide a sanctuary for exchanging ideas about creating beauty, joy, freedom and peace within ourselves and the world.

Cosmic Mending Kit™

You are invited to contribute your Cosmic Mending Kit™. It must be original and not have been exhibited anywhere before. Just click on the tabs above to upload your image or video.

How to create your own Cosmic Mending Kit™

Think of your Cosmic Mending Kit™as a treasure chest of your most cherished items, objects, thoughts, experiences, memories, songs, poems, people, pets, places or stuff that make you feel good, delighted, hopeful, inspired, or right in your world. Whatever you decide to include can be physical, metaphorical, kooky, crazy, iconic, beautiful, silly or sensible. Your kit can represent ideas, thoughts, or be something solid, tangible and touchable. You choose. This is your kit, your world.

My hope is that we'll be uplifted by each others most cherished creations to help us live the lives we envision for ourselves.

Tips:

Be brief - the less words the better.

Be legible - make sure it’s readable and clear.

Welcome to the Cosmic Mending Kit™

Dear Friends,

How the Cosmic Mending Kit™ came to be...

One night, during my writing group, (a group of us who have written together once a week for 9 years) I wrote about what would go into my Cosmic Mending Kit™.

Everyone was so intrigued we decided we’d all write about what would go into our kits. From that one session I got the idea that all of us had a cosmic mending kit in us. We know what comforts us and nourishes us when we feel the pressures of life get to be too much.

I thought why not create a shared place where we can provide a kind of sanctuary whenever we feel the need for it? Thus The Cosmic Mending Kit™ was born.

I hope you’ll send us yours and enjoy the kits of others.

In Peace,

Susan Harrow

P.S. Then I thought about, what is the ultimate Cosmic Mending Kit™? It’s not something outside ourselves but peacefulness inside. To “be peace.” So there is another section of this site where you can visit, to “Be the change you want to see in the world.” as Gandhi said. What better way to “be” than to feel peace and send it on to someone else. The ultimate cosmic telegram. So I invite you to click on the cosmic calendar to send peace to someone who needs it.

Tea Party: Life imitating art in Nashville

Am I the only one to notice the coincidence that the Tea Party Convention met in Nashville, which is also the title of a 1975 Robert Altman movie about (among other things) an anti-establishment presidential candidate? Hal Phillip Walker, the standard-bearer of the Replacement Party, would have felt at home last weekend in Nashville.
Walker's populist platform… Continue

Kirk Wins Illinois Republican Primary

In the first midterm election of the year, with the U.S. Senate seat once occupied by President Barack Obama up for grabs, voters sent a moderate five-term congressman from a wealthy suburb to face off against a 33-year-old state Treasurer who used to play basketball with the president.
Mark Kirk, the Republican congressman, won his primary by nearly 40 percen… Continue

Watch the full Apple iPad Keynote online

Apple unveiled their mobile computing tablet on January 27 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.
Many tech sites provided live updates from the event on their blogs and some even broadcasted the event live to the web via their iPhone. The quality was somewhat lacking in these broadcasts and it was often difficult to see clear images of the presentat… Continue

The best running shoe may be none at all, U.S. researchers said on Wednesday

Runners who eschew shoes may be less likely to do serious injury to their feet, because they hold their feet differently, Daniel Lieberman of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts and colleagues found.
Writing in the journal Nature, they said runners who wear shoes tend to hit the ground with their heels first, whereas barefoot runners put the balls of… Continue

Clinton, Bush say saving lives is top goal in Haiti

Getting aid to Haiti right away to save lives is the first goal of the fund-raising initiative headed by George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, the two former U.S. presidents say.
In a pre-recorded interview broadcast Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," Bush and Clinton said the new fund created by President Barack Obama also seeks to ensure that money keeps coming i… Continue
